The Permanent Secretary
Mrs. Rabi Shuaibu Jimeta, mni was born in Gombe, Gombe State. She was educated in Gombe and Bauchi States for her primary and secondary school education. She holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees both in Biological Sciences from the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria and Bayero University (BUK), Kano, respectively. She also has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Public Administration. She is a member of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, (mni) Kuru, and the Nigerian Institute of Management, (MIN).
She began her career as a Secondary School Teacher and rose through the ranks, until she became a School Principal. She transferred her services from the old Bauchi State Civil Service to the Federal Civil Service as an Assistant Director in the defunct Ministry of States and Local Government Affairs. She later worked in various capacities in the Federal Ministries of Communication, Industry, Environment and Youth Development.
She was appointed a Federal Permanent Secretary on 1st January, 2011 and has served in the Special Duties Office under the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Ministries of Science and Technology, Environment and now in the Ministry of Youth Development. She served in many committees both as Chairman and member and represented Nigeria in various International Meetings and conferences.
Mrs. Jimeta is married with children and grandchildren. She is a versatile reader and writer.
